CALBAYOG CITY - A free medical and surgical mission will be held starting March 6 up to 8, 2017 at St. Camillus Hospital.
In an interview with PBS News, Health Education program Officer Mercy Basa said that the medical and surgical team from St. Mary’s Hospital in Ludong Taiwan, their mission partners, will arrive on March 06, 2017, and will start screening the patients at St. Camillus Hospital which is based in Barangay Trinidad, this city.
Basa said that on March 7, they will bring the mission to list and screen patients in Brgy. Pilar, Oquendo district, and on March 8, at the Oquendo Poblacion. But the surgical operation will be done at the hospital.
Meanwhile, hospital director Fr. Renato Maliwat said that St. Mary’s Hospital will be sponsoring an indigent patient recommended for surgical operation, whose medical case cannot be operated on locally because of inadequate surgical facilities. The patient will be brought for operation to the St. Mary’s Hospital in Ludong, Taiwan for free, including transportation and other incidental expenses. (CJ/ ELEEN S. LIM)
