SAMAR’S FIRST DISTRICT AND CALBAYOG 2016-2019 NEOS TAKE OATH
CALBAYOG CITY – Newly elected officials (NEOS) of the city and the first district of Samar was sworn in to office in a ceremony at the Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral right after a concelebrated mass led by Msgr. Francisco Cinco, Jr. in the morning of June 28, 2016 with the CKC Youth Symphony Orchestra singing songs praises during the mass.
Samar’s first congressional district Representative-elect Edgar Mary Sarmiento, and the four newly-elected Board Members for the first legislative district of the province – Julius Mancol Miguelito Ayong, Regina Rabuya, and Alfredo Serrano - joined the city’s re-elected City Mayor Ronald P.Aquino, Vice Mayor Diego P. Rivera, Councilors (first District’s) Sylvan Josef Ayong, Billy Martires, Jessie Jackson and Baby Chuca and (second district’s) Jimjim Uy, Alex Gelera, Cesar Sabenicio, Charlie Coñejos and Aquilina Sabi in taking respective oaths of corresponding offices they have been elected to in the inaugural rites.
The newly elected officials were in company of respective families during the oath-taking with the administering officers.

Three Trial Court Judges – Reynaldo Clemens, Ernesto Peñaflor and Noel Sermense as well as five Punong Barangays of the City – Ariel M. Rosales, Kristopher Krishnamuti, Pablo S. Labasbas, Salvacion C. Daguman, Henry Jackson.

The business sector led by the Greater Calbayog Chamber of Commerce, Inc. President Nicholas Chan, Barangay Officials, friends and acquaintances of the NEOs witnessed the ceremonies.
There were three parts of the inaugural rites – (1) concelebrated mass as well as (2) oath taking and signing at the Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral; and (3) celebration at the Calbayog City Sports Center for lunch and merriment.
