CALBAYOG CITY – Four males, in late teens reportedly under the influence of intoxicating liquor, figured in a vehicular accident involving two modified motor bicycles that fell off Minlawaan Bridge, along Maharlika Highway in Barangay San Policarpo, this city at around 10:30 on the night of October 04, 2015.
Responding team from the Bureau of Fire Protection and the Calbayog City Police immediately brought all four to the nearest hospital where one of them, Sotero Flor, an eighteen-year old student was declared dead-on-arrival while the three others – Denmyr Sagadal, Adonis Sagadal and Jemuel Labradores are confined for medical attention and treatment.

The contractor’s Stop Light Operator on-duty on the night of the accident, informed the Calbayog Journal that three motor bicycles were in convoy coming from the north heading towards the south (city proper) direction which side of approach towards the detour-bridge were on a "stop" while vehicles headed north were on the "go."
Two of the three motor bicycles, ridden by twos (driver and backrider), however, unheedingly and continuously drove, bumping unto and past the detour-signage then thru the bridge under repair and fell off upon reaching the part with a hole and bumped unto the posts of the other half of the bridge while the third vehicle with a lone rider that was just tailing behind used the detour bridge on his way towards the south direction and was unknown as he continuously drove past the stop-light operator.
