CALBAYOG CITY- The internet speed being advertised by telephone service providers in Samar and Leyte is actually not fully supplied up to this time.
National Telecommunication Commision ascertained during its recent internet speed verification activity in various parts of the region.
Electronics engineer Wilfredo Zabala who heads the NTC enforcement and operation division in Region 8 told the Calbayog Journal that internet service in this part of the country will remain slow until the reported on-going upgrading of the service providers' telecommunication facilities is completed.
Zabala explained that internet service is presently unregulated by the NTC as it is merely a "value added service" of telephone service providers at this point in time. What the NTC is currently controlling is the basic telephone service of private telecommunication companies.
