CALBAYOG CITY - The completion of the road construction project connecting Gandara and Matuguinao is seen to enhance the economic condition of the constituents as economic activities starts to flourish in the area.
Having been completed, the Gandara-Matuguinao Road Construction Project serves as a portal to the aspiration of the constituents in the area to be connected to the growth centers of Samar. The road stretches through three barangays (Pizarro, Hiparayan and Penaplata) in the Municipality of Gandara and four barangays (from Penaplata to Tawiran) in the Municipality of Matuguinao, all of Samar Province.
With an allocation of Php50 Million in calendar 2014, 2,757 linear meters of the road (particularly in the area of Gandara) is now concreted while concreting of the 2,384 linear meters (in the Matuguinao side) is set for implementation within the current year (2015) with another PhP50 Million funding underway.
DPWH targets to make the whole stretch of the Gandara-Matuguinao road fully concreted by calendar year 2017 as funds will continue to be allocated.
