CALBAYOG CITY- Low visibility is said to be the reason behind the vehicular accident that happened at the Maharlika highway in Brgy. Matobato during the wee hours of the morning of August 21, 2015 which injured five people.
The Police report on the incident stated that a Ford ranger pick-up driven by 47- year-old Ermelito Villas y Ruiz was travelling towards the city proper from the north during a heavy rainfall when the vehicle hit the motorcab in front of it.

The motorcab, driven by a certain Arturo Bulgan, was thrust outside of the road and hit the gate of a residential building while the car swerved and smashed a house owned by Ms. Joy Bocobo.
The driver of the pick up which is reportedly owned by the city of Davao in Mindanao blamed the heavy rainfall at around 3 o'clock in the morning for the accident that injured the four passengers of the motorcab and its driver. Ruiz told police that the downpour blurred his vision he didn't see the motorcab.
The motorcab driver and the injured passengers were all taken to the St. Camillus Hospital for medical treatment. The passengers were identified as Macaria Manlapid, Felix Maraguiz, Ernesto Titoy, and Purificacion Roa.
