DENR & EMB RO 8 HOSTS PHOTO CONTEST
CATBALOGAN CITY – The regional offices of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the Environment Management Bureau (EMB) is conducting a Photo Contest aimed at enjoining “the participation of young people in Eastern Visayas and maximize their current interest in social media.”

With this year’s observance of environmental events during the month of November – National Clean Air Month, National Environmental Awareness Month and National Climate Change Consciousness Week – the theme is anchored at “Green Schools . . . Build Sustainable and Climate Resilient Communities.” The contest’s guidelines are as follow:

1. Open to all youth in Eastern Visayas, ages 16 to 21 years, whether in or out of school.

2. Photos should best describe the them “Green Schools. . .Build sustainable and Climate-Resilient Communities.

3. Entries should be submitted to and received by the Regional Public Affairs Office, DENR Region 8, Tacloban City, Sto. Niño Extn., Tacloban City not later than November 18, 2016.

4. All submitted entries must be printed in 8” x 12” photo paper with no borders. Each printed entry should be accompanied by an electronic copy with a resolution of not lower than (3 MP) 2048 x 1536 pixels together with the following:

- A TITLE for the shot

- The photographer’s name, address and contact numbers.

- Date and place the photo was taken as well as any details of the photo.

5. By submitting a photograph for consideration, the photographer attests that:

a) Entry is an original photograph (without Photoshop/no post-processing or other digital manipulation.

b) S/he created the image and owns full copyright to pictures submitted.

c) Entrant is prepared to certify this attestation on request.

d) Entry has not been published in the past nor presented in any other photo contest.

All photos submitted/entered will be judged for relevance, appropriateness and compliance with the rules. The team will simply select the photos that strike them most based on creativity composition, artistic merit, brilliance and richness of the colors and the adherence to the Theme.

Participants with successful entries will be notified through text and be invited on the programs. Chosen photos will be posted on the exhibits and will be used for the property of DENR in IEC Campaign materials. Note that photographers will be recognized.
