EIGHTY-EIGHT Journalists in Eastern Visayas were enrolled and qualified as recipients in the Emergency Employment Pogram called the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
The program provided short-term community work to the journalists in the quad-media industry that covers radio, television, print and on-line workers for news and information.
Media workers were assigned to Tree Planting and Coastal Clean-up work for 15 working days (holidays not included) starting June 20, 2023 until July 05, 2023.

At Php375.00 per day, the recipient media were required to work at 4 hours a day. The services are reflected in a daily time record (DTR), duly signed by the beneficiary as approved by an assigned timekeeper.
Pictures reflecting delivery of services for the 15-day duration were also required as proof of accomplishments.

Recipient-media were generally thankful as money received from the program was a big ease to respective families’ needs for basic commodities in the household.
