2 HVI SUSPECTS KILLED IN POLICE DRUG-BUST OPERATIONS

KILLED in a police drug buy-bust operations in a diversion road in Barangay Bagacay, Calbayog City in the morning of January 25, 2025 were two (2) suspects stated by police as high-value individuals (HVI) involved in illegal drug trade.

The police identified the suspects as alias “Mar” and alias “Dren” who are both residents of Barangay Hamorawon, Calbayog City. The former is tagged as a henchman of Ricardo Dealagdon alias “Edar,” an alleged high ranking member of the Wahingon Criminal Gang who was neutralized in January 11, 2025.

Relatives tell that alias “Mar” in the reports is Maron Dealagdon and in his early 20’s while alias “Dren” is Aldrin Bere, a minor in his midteens.

Police reports tell that the suspects engaged the operatives in a firefight after sensing the presence of a police buyer where both suspects sustained gunshot injuries and were pronounced dead-on-arrival at the hospital.

Pieces of evidences collected during the inventory procedures include 8 heat-sealted transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, marked money and boodle money used in the operation, a cellphone and other personal items.

Initial posts of Pulis ng Samar page did not mention or account any firearm taken from the suspects.

SOCO Personnel from the Calbayog City Satellite Forensic Unit processed the scene of the incident.

Provincial Director of Samar PNP in his press statement said that “this operation is part of our ongoing commitment to dismantling criminal organizations in the region, particularly those involved in illegal drug trade and violent crimes. The SPPO remains focused on ensuring public safety and will continue to take decisive action against criminal elements threatening the peace and security of Samar.”(CJ/JMM)
